My Review of Regina,Saskatchewan

Regina, it’s the capital of Saskatchewan, the city that rhymes with fun and with out a doubt the worst place I have ever visited. I was there for four days over the weekend and in that amount of time I saw a person be attacked on a bus, a person robbed at knife point and some other random fight break out.

Now I first I thought this could all just be a coincidence, until I started talking to my family in town and doing some research. Turns out Macleans magazine wrote an article about how it had Canada’s worst neighbourhood and I must say I completely agree.

The problem is quite simple really natives. They are handed money and don’t have to get jobs, then with all their free time just drink instead of raiseing their numerous kids who then turn into criminal pieces of shit themselves. The racial tension here is ridiculous, white people look at natives as lazy drunks (which is true) and the natives view whites as spoiled because of all the money and stuff they have(which they actually worked for).

The two groups deal with these judgments very differently however. The white people basically try as hard as they can to avoid the dirty natives, and the natives just get angry and lash out on their communities and the white people they hate so much. They do this in the form of violent crime, graffiti, robberies, the list could go on and I haven’t even mentioned the gangs yet. And with the ridiculous two tiered “justice system” Canada has they serve only maybe half of the time in jail that white person would be given for crimes such as murder. And they don’t even necessarily get sent to a prison, they sometimes get to go to a “healing lodge” which is damn near a vacation. How is it fair that the people committing most of the crime get more leniency towards sentencing? Maybe if this was stopped they would have some motivation to not commit crimes? Or at the very least be put away for a decent amount of time for the crimes they’ve committed.

And it isn’t just violent crimes, it is all around not giving a shit. Me and My brother went to the local wal-mart to do some shopping one afternoon, I was tired so I wanted to go to the Mcdonalds in the Wal-mart to get a coffee. I was surprised to find it completely full of natives, I was the only white person in their! Looking back this makes perfect sense, a place poor people eat inside a place poor people shop, must be damn near the most successful business ever. Them being there isn’t what bothered me, what bothered me was how they acted, they left everything a mess, refusing to clean up after themselves going so far as to throw ketchup on walls and such before they left. As if people don’t hate you enough for not working, do you have to make the day harder for people who actually have jobs? No wonder nobody likes you. The worst part about the whole experience was that a wal-mart employee brought in a kid who had been wondering the store for about 30-45min and took the kid to their parents who didn’t even know the kid had left. They literally don’t even care enough to notice when their three year old kid disappears for almost an hour, just ridiculous.

The reason I went to Regina this weekend was to go to the mosaic festival and I was say mosaic was alot of fun, so it wasn’t an all bad experience, but until Regina fixes their native problem I will never visit again.

Who says you learn nothing from video games?

Well I was at the local mall/downtown area the other day I ran into the annoying guy at work. You all know the guy I’m talking about, the one who never shuts up, has a high pitched annoying voice and thinks we care about all the things he has to say. Good example, at work last week he showed me his lighter that looked like a wrench at least 15 times, asking if I thought it was cool after each showing.

So he followed me around for damn near 2 hours, and not wanting to be mean I didn’t say anything. Then I saw a huge group of people and my chance for escape. So I walked straight towards the group of people with him following me and the only was to describe it is that I lost him Assasin’s Creed style while I was in the crowd. The next day at work he asked where I dissappeared to and I just replied “I thought you ditched me, you just disappeared!” and acted angry towards him for the rest of the day.

So this Assasin’s creed style escape got me thinking, how much have I actually learned from video games over the years?

I ditched the annoying guy from work, and really that is enough real life video game uses for me. But also I’ve snuck up on my girl friend at least a hundred times in a mall or at the house or somewhere else. And everytime I’ve done it she’s like “How’d you sneak up on me like that.”. Honestly the only answer that comes to mind is that I’ve just gotten good at it from all those hours of Metal Gear Solid and Splinter Cell.

As a kid I was damn near illiterate because reading just didn’t intrest me so I never bothered to try it, until I had to teach myself how to read in order to accomplish anything on my Pokemon Red. And I wish I had a nickel for everything I’ve learned playing video game Jeopardy or Trivial Pursuit. My little brother plays the shit out of Big Brain Academy and Brain Age. Not to mention the motor skills you can develop through these games. And parents bitching their kids just sit on the couches should get them a Wii or DDR.

So really aren’t our children almost better off with video games? Would you rather them be outside getting into trouble and drugs and such?

And I don’t support WOW thats a whole different story.

Earth Hour

Earth hour was done just last Saturday and I personally see no point in it. Sure all kinds of places turned their lights off, but in all honesty, what difference does one hour make?

Let me say before I go any further that I don’t really care about the environment or the state of the earth for one simple reason, I’m pretty sure I’ll die before it will. And even to me I don’t see the point of Earth hour. Does one hour where a bunch of people turn off their lights really make a difference at all? We as a planet need to come together and form a better solution, one that will actually work in the long run and help fix the environment, not just turn off some lights for an hour once a year and feel like we did our part and the world is a better place for it. But like I said before, I don’t really care, fool yourselves into thinking your making a difference. And yes I know earth hour is more about raising awareness then actually saving an hour’s worth of electricity, but everybody knows about helping the environment by now.

Now, for the reason I care enough to even blog about Earth Hour. So Saturday night when I got to work I was informed that I was to turn off all the outside lights for an hour. I thought this was a great idea, because we would look like we were closed and it would be a good hour, Earth Hour seemed great. About twenty minutes into the hour an elderly lady was attempting to walk from her car to the entrance and slipped on ice she didn’t see on account of all the outside lights being turned off. So now I had to call an ambulance and act like I cared about the elderly lady who had broken her arm. Overall it was still a good night and the lady falling was really funny at the time, but I just hate old people,handicapped people, retarded people and any other such group when they become an inconvenience for us normal folk.

Best part. I was talking to the lady while we waited for her cab and she mentioned how she was happy businesses were doing the earth hour thing. Guess she didn’t learn the horrible affects of people trying to make a positive difference.

Latimer vs. Paunchay

I believe in the world being a fair place. This is one of the more interesting(in my mind anyways) instances of people being treated unfairly. This time by the courts and justice system.

For this tale we go to the land of wheat and umm…more wheat? The Canadian prairies, Saskatchewan to be more specific.

First to give some background info. A few years ago a man named Robert Latimer had a daughter named Tracy. Tracy suffered from severe cerebral palsy, which resulted in her mind only being able to develop to the point of a child between the ages of 4-6 months. She was also in severe pain for pretty much her whole life. I don’t wish to get into any more specifics about her condition, you can read up on it HERE. For the remainder of the article I shall simply say she was retarded. Long story short, one day Robert ended his daughter’s life. He did this to end her constant pain, believing it was what was best for her and just wanting his little girl’s suffering to end. For doing this Robert was handed life in prison.

Now we go to the take of a man named Christopher Paunchay. Long story short again. On the weekend after his wife separated from him he got to drinking, as is the tradition of his peoples. He turned down offers from relatives to look after his children for him. Then the next morning he showed up drunk at a friend’s house, had suffered from severe frostbite and was taken to the hospital. He had walked to his friend’s house in basically jeans and a t-shirt and the temperature dipped to -50 Celsius.

Now so far it just seems like another story about a drunken aboriginal, no big deal right? But heres the kicker.

The next morning his two daughters were found dead from hypothermia. Turns out that when father of the year left on his drunken voyage his two daughters (the oldest being three years old) went into the – 50 degree night as well. Since his father was taking such good care of them they were prepared for the freezing conditions in a t-shirt and diaper each. Chris’s negligence caused his two daughters to die and he was handed 3 years in prison.

So a loving white guy with the best of intentions ends his daughter’s pain and suffering, the suffering of a person who had no conceivable future other then pain and he unfairly gets life in prison. And a native guy who let his two daughters freeze to death while he was drunk, who also had 51 other convictions gets handed only 3 years in prison.

WHAT THE FUCK?

I personally think that this is complete bullshit. Latimer should be able to walk free at this point,he has been in jail for many years already. And I think Paunchay should be put to death.

And yes, I`m aware thats not how it works.

Before I get started…..

Before I tell my stories and vioce my opinions about the world we live in I’m going to try to stop some of the problems I foresee before they start.

 

First off, I am not racist, prejudice, sexist, a white supremist or any other such terms you can think of. I will simply tell things as I have seen and experienced them. If I say one black guy is a bad person because he is a drug dealer and rapist, don’t call me racist if everything I said is true. I know not every black person is like this, but if this one is, I am free to talk about him as such. So I don’t wanna hear any “You just think he is a bad person because he is black.” This clearly isn’t the case, I think he is a bad person because he is a rapist.

 

Gay people scare me, I don’t like feeling like I’m in jail and have to clentch my ass cheecks closed at all times.

 

All though some things I say may be hateful I do not support any kind of hate crime towards anybody, this includes lynching and anything else you can think of.

 

And in closeing I’m going to say that people with any kind of addiction including:

 

• Smoking
• Alcohol
• Drugs
• World Of Warcraft
• Anything else I missed

 

These people are not suffering from a disease, they are simply weak minded fools who are to pathetic to control themselves. They do not deserve our help or sympathy. Luckily many of these addictions including smoking and drugs will eventually kill the addicts.

Thats what you get for being a weak minded fool.
